Things You'll Need:

Containers/jars (I raid the thrift store for glass candle jars, or small Ball jars are excellent) Essential oils (Young Living is recommended, of course) Wick-centering tool (I use bamboo skewers) Beeswax or coconut wax (clean burning waxes!) Candle wicks - make sure the wick is taller than your container! I usually just use some thin cotton twine or hemp twine, with a knot at the bottom Large glass measuring cup or double boiler Something to stir wax with like a bamboo skewer, popsicle stick, etc.

Easy DIY Essential Oil Candle Directions: 1. Center and attach your wick. Attach it using a dab of hot glue or some of the wax, but making sure it's centered is key. Make sure the wick is centered and straight! 2. Melt the wax in your glass measuring cup or double boiler. I found that about 3 cups of wax at a time was right, but how much you need depends on the size of your container. You can always add more! Melt the wax in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted, or in your double boiler over a pot that you may not use that much. 3. Add essential oils to the wax. I used my Young Living oils, Frankincense, Lavender, and Bergamot, but use whatever scents you like that you feel would go well together! 🙂 It takes quite a bit of oil to produce a scent, so keep sniffing until it smells right to you. 4. Pour wax into container. Carefully pour your scented wax into the container - careful, it’s hot! 5. Let the wax harden. The wax will harden faster if you stick it in the fridge, but if you have a spot to stash it, it will harden in a few hours. 6. Trim the wick. Trim the wick to 1/4″ length above the wax. 7. Light and enjoy! Enjoy your hard work, the fact that you know what ingredients are in your candle, and the aromatherapy benefits! It really wasn't that hard to do!
