If you're like me, this time of year is beautiful, but comes with the ever-present allergies. An allergic reaction begins in the immune system. An allergen is a substance that tricks the immune system - making it think that the allergen is an invader. The immune system then overreacts to the allergen, which is really a harmless substance, and produces Immunoglobulin E antibodies. These antibodies travel to cells that release histamine and other chemicals, causing the allergic reaction. The most common causes for allergic reactions are pollen, dust, mold, animal dander, food, and medications. The top five oils that can be used against the seasonal discomfort that they cause: 1. Peppermint Oil  2. Basil Oil 3. Eucalyptus Oil 4. Lemon Oil 5. Tea Tree Oil You can make an allergy bomb with three drops lavender, three drops lemon, and three drops peppermint oil. In fact, that's what I'm about to do! I suggest putting into a diffuser, and letting yourself sit with it for awhile.
