A lot of us have issues sleeping, and essential oils can help. Here are the top oils that can be used to aid in sleep: 1. Lavender - It's calming, soothing, and relaxing. It also smells pretty darned good. 2. Valerian - It has an earthy, musky smell, and can be mixed with lavender or chamomile if you don't care for it as much. It helps your brain to shut down and start to relax. 3. Chamomile - It's very soothing and can also be used for tummy upset, so it's handy to have around. 4. Ylang Ylang - Floral and fruity, it has been used for years to help relax people. (I personally don't like the smell, but it's worth checking out.) 5. Bergamot - Bergamot is related to oranges, and while it's a bright scent, it's also very relaxing. It's my personal favorite, along with lavender. 6. Sandalwood - Very earthy and a personal favorite of mine.  7. Marjoram - Great for cooking, but also good for aching joints and for a peaceful sleep. 8. Cedarwood - Earthy and great for relaxing and for blending with the other oils in this list. I suggest using three to five drops of each in your diffuser before bedtime. You can mix and match as you choose from this list, and create your own blend.
